Back to the Weight Room

So I am back home for break, and decided that since I won't be staying up at school and using the gym there, it's probably best I get a membership to a gym close to home and one that has a basketball court too so I can get ready for possibly going overseas to explore playing professionally next year. Well, I just got a membership to our local LA Fitness...



...and I can't wait to get back to where I once was. But seriously if this isn't motivation for all the fellas out there to get in the weight room and hit the gym hard, then I don't know what is. No homo but...

Book Recommendation: Think and Grow Rich

This book by Napoleon Hill is definitely one that will change your life, forever.

There's a quote that has been on my mind lately by Rick Ross off his latest single Magnificent ft. John Legend and it's "If you ain't getting money that means you done something wrong." And this kinda sums up my definition and relevance to this book.

To a certain extent, that line holds more truth than anything. Yeah, we're in a recession....AND??? Seriously, right now when prices are low, it's time to buy and hold. There's only two markets....when things are going 'bad' as people say, it's best to buy...when things pick up, it's time to sell. And this deals with everything from stocks to real estate, etc.

Anyway, off of my financial advice tangent, this book has truly motivated and inspired me to get off my tail and make something of myself. I am a man of intrinsic motivation but this book pushes me to go the extra mile because money is able to be attained, in almost an easy fashion. And I know life isn't based all on money and they say money can't buy happiness, but real talk, neither can poverty.

But yeah, cop this book-read it-memorize it-carry it with you....and remember, it's not all about knowledge, but it's about applied knowledge!!!

It's not even that the storyline was bad or even the actors. But it was the script that killed it for me. Why can't someone produce, direct and create a movie where people actually do things that normal people would do in a movie?

Like, honestly, why would you hit someone trying to attack you over the head just once, let them fall down, and THEN get up and be overpowered by you?

Makes no sense.

Back From Pennsylvania (All-Tournament Team!)

Yup, I'm officially back from my break-before-break, which was a trip to Pennsylvania to play in the USCAA National Tournament.

Well, for a quick recap...

...our first game (UC-Clermont) we lost by 1, which then put us in the lower (loser's) bracket, and the best place we could obtain was 5th place from then on.

We then went on to have three consecutive games, back-to-back-to-BACK in which the results were....we beat the first team (PSU-Hazelton) by 20, second team (Central Maine) by 10 and then for the 5th place championship game, we won by 5 (v. Penn College).

So, needless to say, we played hard, we're tired as ever...and even better news. I made all-tournament team.

Gone To Pennsylvania

Again, I don't talk a lot about my personal life, but I'm a college athlete (basketball) and my team has made it to our conference's (pic above) national tournament in Pennsylvania (@ Penn State Fayette/Greater Allegheny).

We're the 3rd seed and definitely looking to bring back a national championship (we're one of the favorites to win it). So definitely send up a prayer or two and root for my squad and your boy One Ten in spirit.

Anyway, I'm leaving....like...now, and will be returning Sunday morning. Don't worry, I'll still be posting, but will be busy with press conferences, dunk contests, games, etc.

See, I don't really like writing posts about my personal life. But there have been some recent events that have taken place and it's just crazy how things are unfolding and how I'm truly finding out some people's true colors; but yet, as always, I'm the bad guy. LOL! Oooookay!
